GIGABYTE today announced a new enterprise-grade motherboard, the MC62-G41 for AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3000WX and the MW34-SP0 for 12th generation Intel Core processors. Both platforms will ensure a high level of productivity, availability, and security for professional workstations and support for ECC memory. Both motherboards feature the ASPEED AST2600 7th generation Server Management Processor, the world’s first BMC SoC adopting a 28nm advanced processing design. The ASPEED AST2600 delivers improved performance, security, and management for enterprise applications.
GIGABYTE MC62-G41
The GIGABYTE MC62-G41 uses the WRX80 platform that is also backward compatible with the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3000 WX Series processors. The WRX80 chipset supports CPUs up to 64 cores and 128 threads, along with 8-channel memory (ECC/non-ECC) DDR4-3200 and 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes.

The MW34-SP0 features an Intel LGA 1700 socket for the 12th generation Intel Core processors. The Intel W680 chipset allows consumer CPUs to be used at an enterprise level with ECC memory support and improved performance, security, and management for enterprise applications. With the Intel W680 chipset, Intel has seemingly dropped its high-end desktop (HEDT) platform and opened possibilities for cheaper consumer CPUs to be used in workstation PCs.
